No ads or analytics tracking on this website. The app uses the microphone to calculate acoustic indicators, without storing the raw audio signal.
The app can help observe sound phenomena and illustrate acoustic concepts. It is not intended to replace an approved sound level meter.

For better agreement, compare the reading with a reference sound level meter when possible.
Choose suitable indicators and move from time history to band analysis.
Important: smartphone microphones are not designed for regulatory acoustic metrology. Accuracy depends on the device, audio processing and calibration. Use an approved sound level meter whenever regulatory compliance is required.
Key points to know before measuring.
No. The app is intended for indicative measurements and educational use. It does not claim compliance with any sound level meter accuracy class.
Microphones and audio processing vary between smartphones. Calibration can adjust sensitivity, but cannot remove every frequency-response or dynamic-range limitation.
No. The microphone signal is processed to calculate acoustical indicators and is not stored as an audio recording.
LAF is an A-weighted level with Fast time weighting. LAeq is an energy-equivalent average level over a measurement interval.
It divides the acoustic signal into standardized frequency bands to identify which regions contribute most to the overall sound level.
